The challenge

For a company as committed to high standards as Atos Origin, training results are important, especially in specialist subjects such as PRINCE2 project management – the de facto standard for IT project management. One of the most meaningful ways in which to measure training success is the most obvious – examination pass-rates – but PRINCE2 examinations are notoriously rigorous, and high pass rates are not commonplace.

The solution

Atos Origin’s choice of Xpertise to provide its project management training proved to be exactly the right move – delivering examination success rates which are well above the industry average.

For Atos Origin, Xpertise manages a running schedule of PRINCE2 training courses – and has done so for over three years. Xpertise schedules a programme of Foundation, Conversion and Practitioner courses throughout the UK – though the majority of the courses run at Atos Origin’s key operational centres in Wilmslow and London.

Over the last three years, Xpertise has trained almost 350 people – and the proof of its training success lies in its exceptional examination pass rates. For the Foundation examination, Xpertise has helped Atos Origin’s delegates to achieve an unbeatable 100% first-time pass rate – while first-time pass rates at practitioner level, at 86.5%, are well above the industry average.

For Atos Origin, Xpertise provides detailed reports on the progress of the training programme’s delegates – who has registered on courses, who has attended, who had passed and who has failed. For the rare few who do not make the grade the first time around, Xpertise helps them resit the last two days of the course and then to retake the examination.

PRINCE2 qualifications must be renewed every five years – so Xpertise has put into place a recertification programme to enable project managers to keep their certification current. Xpertise helps to manage this process for Atos Origin, by notifying the company when each person comes up for recertification.
